LINEFINDER: QUOTE MAKER · EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 11, 2026

Linefinder: Quote Maker (“Linefinder”, “the app”) is published by 2140 Studio (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Linefinder on iPhone or Androidon iPhone and iPadon Android. If you have a question, write to support@2140s.com.

The short version

1. What stays on your device

Everything you create in Linefinder is stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage:

We never receive this information. It is included in the device backups that Apple (iCloud) or Google (Android backup)Apple (iCloud)Google (Android backup) makemakes if you have turned backups on; those backups are governed by Apple’s and Google’s policiesApple’s policiesGoogle’s policies. Deleting the app deletes all of it from the device.

Photos

When you add a background or an avatar from your library, the system photo picker gives Linefinder only the photos you select; the app does not see the rest of your library. Photos you pick are processed on your device and are not uploaded. When you save a card, the app asks for permission to add images to your photo librarythe image is added to your photo library (on Android 9 and earlier the app asks for storage permission to do this) (on iPhone this is “add only”: the app can’t read your library with it); this permission is “add only”: the app can’t read your library with it.

Sharing

When you share a card, the system share sheet sends the image to the app you choose. What that app does with it is governed by its own privacy policy.

2. Services the app contacts directly

Linefinder connects to the following services over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We don’t add any identifier to these requests; like any internet request, they include your device’s IP address and basic technical information such as the app or system version (the “user agent”).

ServiceWhyWhat it receives
PexelsBackground photosSearch words (the app’s scene words such as “ocean”, or words you type in the photo search), the requested photo size and orientation, IP address, user agent.
Wikimedia (Wikiquote, Wikidata)Public-domain quotesThe names of the Wikiquote pages and authors the app looks up, IP address, and a user agent that names the app and our support address (Wikimedia asks apps to do this).
Google FontsFonts for scripts the card font doesn’t cover (for example Chinese, Hindi or Arabic)The font file requested, IP address, user agent. No cookies are used.

These services are run by others under their own privacy policies (linked above). We don’t receive the information they collect.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Linefinder is free and paid for by ads, provided by Google AdMob:

Apart from the photo search, ads are never shown while you edit. On iPhone, a Linefinder Pro subscription or lifetime purchase removes all ads. A Linefinder Pro subscription or lifetime purchase removes all ads. AdMob’s software in the app collects and uses:

Google uses this data to show ads, measure them, prevent fraud and improve its services, and may use it to personalize ads. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Your choices

4. Usage statistics (Android only)

The Android app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to learn which features are used, so we know what to improve. It records events such as “a card was exported”, “a font was chosen” or “the photo search was opened”, together with an app-instance identifier, device model, OS version, language and approximate location derived from your IP address. It never records the text of your quotes, your signature or your photos. Analytics is linked to AdMob and uses Google signals, so these events, your advertising ID and, if you are signed in to Google and have ads personalisation on, data associated with your Google account are also used to measure ad revenue and to build audiences for ads. Where consent is required, this only happens after you agree in the consent form (section 3). Google Analytics keeps this data for 14 months.

The Android app also reports to our own statistics server (insight.2140s.com, operated by us) so we can count installs and active users and see how much each ad placement earns. It sends one event when the app is first opened (including the Google Play install referrer, which tells us which store page or campaign the install came from), one event each time you start using the app, and one event each time an ad is shown (which ad network filled it, the ad placement and the estimated revenue reported by AdMob). Each event carries your Android ID, your advertising ID (unless you have deleted it), a random install ID, the app version, device maker and model, OS version, language, time zone, network type and mobile network code; the server records the country derived from your IP address. It never receives the text of your quotes, your signature or your photos, and we don’t share it with anyone.

The iPhone app does not use any analytics service.

5. Purchases (iPhone only)

Linefinder Pro (monthly and yearly subscriptions, and a one-time lifetime purchase) is sold and billed by Apple. We never receive your payment details, name or Apple Account. The app checks on your device, through Apple’s StoreKit, whether Pro is active. You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings › your name › Subscriptions. The Android app has no purchases.

The Android app has no purchases.

6. Crash reports

On Android, the appThe appLinefinder has no crash reporting service of its own. If you have agreed to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and performance statistics. uses Firebase Crashlytics (Google) to send us a report when it crashes or stops responding, so we can fix the problem. A report contains the error and where in the code it happened, the app version, device model, OS version, free memory and storage, whether the app was on screen, a random Crashlytics installation ID and the last few usage events from section 4 before the crash. It never contains the text of your quotes, your signature or your photos. Google keeps crash reports for 90 days. On iPhone, Linefinder has no crash reporting service of its own; if you have agreed to share analytics with app developers in your device settings, Apple may give us anonymous crash reports and performance statistics.

7. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

We rely on your consent for personalized advertising and, on Android, for analytics where consent is required and for analytics where consent is required; you can withdraw it at any time (see section 3). Our own statistics on Android (installs, app opens and ad revenue, section 4) and crash reports on Android (section 6) rely on our legitimate interest in measuring how the app is used and paid for, and in fixing crashes. Our own statistics (installs, app opens and ad revenue, section 4) and crash reports (section 6) rely on our legitimate interest in measuring how the app is used and paid for, and in fixing crashes. Requests to Pexels, Wikimedia and Google Fonts are needed to provide the content you ask for (our legitimate interest in providing the app). Google may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States, under its own safeguards.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, Brazil’s LGPD, India’s DPDP Act or Kenya’s Data Protection Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent. The only data we hold ourselves is the Android statistics in section 4; to access or delete it, write to us from your device and we’ll find it by your Android ID. Most other rightsThe only data we hold ourselves is the statistics in section 4; to access or delete it, write to us from your device and we’ll find it by your Android ID. Most other rightsWe don’t keep your data on our own servers, so most of these rights are exercised directly on your device (delete cards in the app, or delete the app) and through the controls in section 3. 9. Children

Linefinder is not directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us.

10. Security

All connections the app makes use HTTPS. Data stored on your device is protected by your device’s own security (passcode and encryption).

11. Changes

If we change how Linefinder handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant (for example, a new kind of data being collected), we’ll also point it out in the app or in the store release notes before it takes effect.
